Where can I buy 1.2V 40mAh Ni-MH batteries?

The unit will recharge them itself - I suspect they are only used to retain your settings and the clock when it isn't plugged in or there is a power cut.
The batteries sold on cards in pound shops are not rechargeable and apart from the polarity possibly being wrong they will probably leak if put in to replace an NiMh cell.
Your original link showed the timers at 3 for < £15. Is it worth paying £3.66 for a replacement battery for one?0 -
Just a thought, as this is a rechargable cell have you tried plugging the timer in overnight to see if it charges? At times any combination of my spelling, grammar or punctuation may be incorrect. Please do not pick me up for this as, after all, it is only an internet forum.0

Thank you both. I had left them plugged in for a couple of hours with no joy, but I'll try leaving them in overnight.0
