Spooky! I was just thinking I should start knitting again. Shall have to get out my needles.
I remember crocheting blankets when I first got married as we had no central heating and they were great to snuggle up under,0 -

Its not intended to be a chair or sofa cover, but rather something you can pull over your knees on a chilly morning, or evening, while sipping a hot chocolate and eating crumpets.
All the wool was 100% donated by friends, family and freecyclers - and its only the second thing I've EVER, in 47 years, (the first thing was a scarf!) managed to knit, so forgive me if I'm proud of it. :T
hi there poshpaws! The blanket looks absolutely lovely and very cosy...I am a beginner in knitting and could only do the basics...Did you have to stich the squares together? or do you knit them into the other squares? Advise please...Many thanks!Sealed Pot Challenge 2012 #1502:)
Debt free by 2014, hopefully earlier...:T0 -
Well when I started the blankie, I was a beginner too - in fact, my first ever square is one of the blankie squares.
Believe me, after you've done a few of them, you get quite good at the old knit one, purl one. Yes, I stitched the squares together. I had to work out which side was the best, then put them face to face and sew down the edges. It was easier than it sounds - and the stitches had to be quite big, so it didn't take long and was very rewarding, as it all came together in my hands.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

It's lovely!
You have inspired me to take up again my huge crocheted granny square, which is meant to be a bedspread for my superking size bed, and which I am taking AGES to finish it!
Well done!

Well done! it will keep you nice and warm this winter :TDespite the cost of living, have you noticed how it remains so popular?0 -
2 things...
a) the blanket is lovely and looks very cosy!
b) your sofa and chair are the same as ours!!!Blood donations to date: 10 | Type: O negative[/B][/CENTER]0 -
Gosh!! It must be a Kent thing ... oh, except ours came from Surrey, originally! LOL
Thanks for the compliments on the blankie - it certainly is warm and cosy. I've had cause to use it a couple of mornings this week when I've been up before the alarm clock. The naughty Saluki who is my Avatar, Jonty, also likes it and every time I go out, I come back to find it up on my bed with a certain hound curled up inside it! Its amazing how he manages to carry it without damaging it, considering it weighs a ton!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0
