How do I do it/What do I say?

I want to try and get a better deal from my mobile phone provider (T-Mobile)

I use a lot of text messages, but not really a lot of 'talk time' (minutes)

I currently pay £25 a month, and I want to pay less - but still be able to use as many texts! :rotfl:

I have seen a few things on the TV, and read a few things, saying that if you phone up your provider and tell them you're thinking of going to another company (even if you're not), they'll offer you a better deal to keep you as a customer.

How do I do this then?
I have no idea what I'd say - especially if I phoned up and gave it all the guff about going elsewhere, and then they just said "OK, that's fine" :rotfl:

My partner also wants to do the same with his contract (he's also on T-Mobile, but his contract is more expensive than mine)

Mammaj it rather depends whether you're still in contract or not as to whether they will take the bait.

If you are out of contract just ask them what deals they can do for you based on a heavier text use rather than airtime. If they don't come up with anything then ask them for a PAC code and go to someone who will.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j
  • Ah.... we're both still in contract with T-Mobile.

Does that mean they wont do anything? :undecided
  • not necessarily, you could tell them you want your contract lowering to the lowest one as your moving to a different provider that has an offer on and you dont want to miss it as it beats what your currently on hands down (have an offer in mind in case they ask about it) and that your going to sell your phone and use the money to pay off the rest of the t mobile contract.

i did this with vodafone, they are dragging there feet a little but if there are better deals out there dont be scared to actually go through with the above scenario of selling phone and lowering contract etc.
