It's actually set up via HDMI - all in all, he's very happy with the monitor.
In terms of getting an identical unit, he uses an iMac and wasn't keen on the prices of an Apple display.0 -
For any type of web design or graphics work an IPS panel is better for colour reproduction and quality.
You get what you pay for with monitors and a good one will last many PC upgrades. If you have to sit looking at a screen all day then its worth spending a bit more to make it pleasant.
Try this one, Dell has very good IPS panels at reasonable cost.

For the intended purpose I would not suggest a widescreen monitor. 1080 is too short. Yes, buy a decent quality IPS but grab one 1200 tall.0 -
Couldn't agree more, but 4x3 form factor screens are becoming as rare as hen's teeth. Almost every monitor now comes as 1920x1080, as if people wanted to watch films on their PC...For the intended purpose I would not suggest a widescreen monitor. 1080 is too short.
