I'm very happy with hsbc and husband is happy with Lloyds (they just phoned to authorise a payment). Now opening a joint first direct and all reports say theirs is excellent too. Looks like it will be very similar to hsbc...0

I've banked with Smile (Internet Co-op) for years and wouldn't change. Consistently good service and good ethical policy.
Having said that, I think choice of bank is a very personal thing and therefore difficult to recommend.0 -
If you like Lloyds TSB then why are you thinking of leaving?
I like the Lloyds TSB online system, but I'm tempted by different banking deals - I suppose it's a moneysavingexpert thing! So, a good banking deal on August 2nd seemed to be Nationwide's free annual Travel Insurance - worth up to £84 pa - on a free banking Flexaccount. However, as with everything, there was a minus, Nationwide's "Mini" statements online is really strange, and waiting 24hrs plus to see the details is even stranger. ( It's as if they are short of disk space - I could lend them a terrabyte or two from my home server! )
So, I'm going to stick with Lloyds TSB and pay the price - you pays your money.....
