Why do you have Sky if you're on benefits?0

Exactly what i was thinking0

I'm not having a pop, just asking. When I was on JSA I couldn't afford £250 a year for Sky. Sky TV is a luxery, not something that should be paid for by the taxpayer. All IMHO of course.0

Benefits bashing thread now is it
If the OP chooses to spend some of their benefits on Sky it nobodies business but theirs.
OP I would have done the same thing and good on you for not backing down with them :TTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Oh and I forgot to say, the OP has had Sky for many many years - maybe they haven't been on benefits for long, maybe they have it because they manage their benefits well and so can afford to have it.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

Ignore those posts alloneword, your thread is about Sky, NOT how you can afford it while receiving benefits :beer:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
As a taxpayer, Epiphone IS actually paying for Alloneword's sky subscription, therefore I think it's a perfectly acceptable question to ask.The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.
You ask for ADVICE not ADVISE.0 -
According to a previous thread, if you cancel Sky but keep the card in the receiver, you will still get the Freeview channels. This still leaves you with the problem of relocating your dish, but not buying a set-top box will partly fund the bits.
In addition, my better half tells me that you can negotiate your own Sky package. Buy chopping out some of the channels you don't want you can save about a fiver a month. Again, a small saving may help with paying for the bits up front.
I don't know your circumstances, but are there any community schemes that could help you out by either moving the dish or pruning the trees?
Good luck with whatever you do.
