Where did you find these deals? I'd be interested in getting one if it's free.
    Cheers

This is automatcially set-up on their Travel cards. I got a Euro one from the site and received the refund no hassles. Not sure about Escape card though.

Forgot to mention you get a free truphone international calling SIM so you can make cheap calls home whilst you're away!

Still a poor option compared to what else is available...

Not wanting to sound out of place, but i got the escape card, and from reading the stuff (i was more concerned with a record of the card showing on my credit report!), if u bought the card from the shop which is not personalised and carrys a max limit of £650, then its not against u....

But if u buy it online, then to give u a personalised card with a £3000 limit, then they do a credit search on u to validate u i guess.... Still wrong though given your not applying for credit, so a search is totally unwarranted....

They've done a credit search on me, and I haven't even applied for a pre-paid card, or even been near a PPC website.

I don't know or care whether they're any good or not, but in the spirit of the first post it's utterly disgusting that they can run searches on people, and leave a footprint, without their consent.

Ought to say I've had no issues with my Escape Card at all.. all money loaded at Phones4U and Paypoint have been added instantly.

What has that to do with anything? That is not what is being discussed.

    And?

Mine works. That is all I wish to discuss. I was just saying that I had no issues in the application of my card from Phones4U.

Of course, I also thought it'd be pretty cool to disclose the ease of top-up too. You know, just helping the cause.

Which cause would that be? To encourage people to obtain a poorly rated card? To attempt to whitewash the issue of the credit search discussed here?
To expose the lie of no charges when the charges are hidden in the poor exchange rates?

This is a money saving website, not an 'advertise a mediocre card' noticeboard.
  • The sarcastic cause. Obviously people have had issues with the card. I was just saying that I haven't.
  • I second that cactusdust.

Donnie, why do you keep criticising the Escape Travel card, and in this case the Escape card? I honestly can't find anywhere that rates them poorly apart from your posts on this site. I did my homework, thought it (travel money card) would be best for me and so far I've had nothing short of an excellent experience, as have friends who I've recommended it too.

And please, I'm not looking for a confrontation, I'm just curious :)
