hmmm we had the same problem with ours in May - he has all the latests consoles (2 houses makes 1 spoiled little boy!), bikes, scooters and cars ... you name it he probably has it so instead we gave him a tour to his favourite football stadium and extra money for spending in the gift shop! He loved it!0

Things that are universal popular with our oldest kids - DD1 10, DS1 8 and DS2 6 and their friends are: a basic chemistry set, a microcope, a telescope, scooters/skateboards, technical lego, moon in my room, marble run. Last year we got them (to share) a basic tool kit - screwdriver, electric drill, hammer, a few nails, tape measure....etc and we let them loose on spare bits of wood, broken chairs....etc (supervised of course
) and they absolutely LOVE it. Not for the faint hearted though, some of DS2's friends parents have expressed concern (thinly veiled disapproval
) but that activity is strictly for our own children!!

I'd second this one my DS loves his tool kit, it was given to him second hand, he spends hours making stuff with his dad like little chairs & a bird tables & when dads busy he make simpler stuff.:hello:0 -
If he's asking for Lego I would get him that TBH. My almost 11 year old is still playing with his lego and thoroughly enjoys it. Yes, it gets left on a shelf sometimes for a month or two but he will always go back and play with them. Boots have 3 for 2 on toys at the moment and have some lego too, might be worth a look.
My DS2 who has just turned 8 loves the HotWires kit. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
Thanks for all the ideas.
I would like to buy him lego, but he does that each birthday - get crazy over some different lego theme. Before i bought him some kits, i helped him make them up, then after a few weeks he will not touch them again, apart from if one his friends insists to play with it.
Now he wants a Iphone!
plus he wants club penguin clothes and toys
and the lost goes on.....and on!!!! lol!0 -
That's boys for you........ Give him an Amazon voucher and let him have the "fun" of choosing for himself. Save a lot of hassle :rotfl:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
