How long i'm in depends on whether they can do it with keyhole surgery so will either be in 3 days (go in today, keyhole tomorrow, home late Friday) or will be in for 5-7 days if have to have full surgery. Will miss being here though. thanks for your good wishes,

this should prob be on vent board but anyway. had letter saying ring at 10 for going in at 10:30 unless they have some emergencys and can't give me a bed. rung up, they said, we are full with day surgery, ring back at 1:30, then 4:30 and eventuaally we'll have a bed. Needn't have had a mad panic all morning getting stuff ready if they have day surgery on. madness.

yep, divadee is awful. but is better being here than sat in hospital all day doing nothing i suppose, but is just jolly annoying. soon as i'm out i'll be back and let you know how i get on.

This happened to me too 160. The letter told me i had to ring at 10 re. the bed availability. I rang and rang and couldnt get through. I got through at about mid day to be told they still couldnt tell me anything till 4 and they would ring me.

4.30 i was still sitting here chewing me nails. You see the thing that was concerning me, as Mr Judi had to take my boys 130 miles to my daughter in Devon. The plan was, he was going to take them after he had settled me into my bed. Anyway, 5 oclock, Mr Judi had had enough so he phoned the secretary of the surgeon and gave her an ear bashing. She got through to the ward. She explained there was a bed, it was just that the patient hadnt got out of it yet. Why the hell they hadnt told me that in the first place beats me!! She told him he could drop me off, although my bed may not be ready (that didnt bother me in the slightest), and when he did, he was then able to travel the 260 miles there and back to take my boys.

I actually got to the ward and my bed was ready waiting for me, and one of the nursing staff actually was quite snotty with me, told me the admissions dont normally come in till 7 anyway!!! Far cry from that stupid letter telling me to ring at 10.

However, i cant complain about my treatment so i shouldnt complain really.

thanks judi, makes me feel better its not just me. but i'm like you were sat here chewing nails, is driving me mad.

just rung them, have to go to an admissions suite at half two, then when there is a bed they will move me to the ward. hooray, least doing something.
