in Credit cards
I owe £570 on my halifax Credit Card, yesterday i got given £77 for my last Jsa Payment (Dole).
I awoke this morning to find that a debt company had taken %100 out of my account without my knowledge or permission, which leaves me 4 months without any income of any sort.
Can they do this?
And what am i supposed to do now, im sanctioned from the Job centre for 4 months for "failing to attend an interview" (which is a farse in its self.)

How did they get access to your bank account?
Is it through a set direct debit or have they taken it off your bank card?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

My credit card was with my bank, i have no direct debit set up, they just decided to empty my bank as i was in "arrears".
I just rang the bank and they basically said deal with it0 -

yes they can. you agreed to "Right of Offset" when you opened the credit card with the bank you have your current account with.
This entitles the bank to help themselves to your current account balance if you break the terms of your credit card.
If you can't bring it back up to date without starving you need to open an account with a bank to whom you don't own any money.
It will have to be a basic account given you are in arrears on your credit card, but nearly all basic accuonts come with a debit card now anyway so shouldn't be much different

Yes they can offset debts from one part of their 'group' against assets in another. Unfortunate but they can do this, and it's becoming more common.
Perhaps you can open a bank account elsewhere to pay stuff into so you can 'manage' things with this bank better? If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

They took the money from my CardCash account , Visa Electron.
I wont hear about any hardship payment for another 2 weeks and my electric is about to run out.
