Just realised I have no counterpart!

Hi guys,
I have just got a quote for car insurance and confirmed it all online.
I have rang them to set up monthly payments and I expect them to ask for my driving licence etc through the post soon (bloke on the phone didnt say anything).
Problem is, ive lost my paper counterpart for my licence and theres no way I will be able to order a new one until payday next month and then theres the wait for the actual counterpart to arrive which will prob be another 3 weeks???
Will there be a problem with my insurance if I can only provide my photocard licence???
Its been that long since ive had car insurance that I dont even know if they still ask for your driving licence anymore???:o:o
Thanks in advance guys...

They've never asked me for my driving licence. I've switched insurers every year for the last few and none have ever asked me for it :-)
;) Better to say nothing and look a fool than to speak and remove all doubt
:D

Hi Becciboobah,
Theyve never asked you???
They must instantly know your details off the computers then??
Its been at least 5 years since ive owned a car and I remember them (priviledge insurance) asking for copies of my licence etc back then.....0 -
I've never been asked for my driving licence by an insurance company.
The insurance co. I previously worked for would only ever ask for a driving licence (photocopy of both parts) when either: making a high value claim, if your policy was reviewed by an underwriter or if your claim was being investigated (for whatever reason).0 -
If they ask you for it, then explain your predicament - they will probably wait, if not suggest to them that they do a conference call with you to the DVLA and check your licence details that way.0

Very interesting!!
So they just take it on "faith" that you even own a driving licence in the first place!!
That sounds wrong to me!!:eek:0 -
