yep i use pre approved bidders aswell, very useful tool and very easy to do. Just have to be careful and watch you email etc for people requesting to be put on the list, especially in the run up to the auction ending.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!

I sold a Nokia E61. :) And it's sim-locked. For some reason, my buyer thinks it's safer to buy from me than to buy from other auctions.

    What phone are you selling?

    w800i...its a great phone but i got w810i now!
    mmmm free stufffffffff :p

go onto your `my ebay` page
    click on preferences

you can bar bidders that have
    any non paying bidder strikes

feedback of less than 25(various amounts)

that have minus feedback ie -1

    there are various other catergories
as well that I cant remember offhand.

Also you can have a pre-aproved bidders
list as well,so you can decide exactly who
you want to bid on this.I tend to
use this particular one as a last resort

Myself anything like this I only have
for sale in the UK I dont let overseas
    bidders bid.

I had a grim experiance selling
my Sony digital camera first time round
second time round did all of the above
and it sold trouble free, plus I always use
special delivery for this type of stuff,
no exceptions, that in its self saves a
load of hassle from would be postal scammers.

i couldnt see the option for barring less than 25 feedback...but i did all the others already..ta
    mmmm free stufffffffff :p
  • I sold my old phone for £80 using a lot of the above advice (Not accepting bids outside UK, asking for minimum of 10 +ve feedback etc) but I ONLY accepted paypal. Users without a paypal account couldn't bid.

I'm told a lot of the silly prices are money-laundering scams anyway. A lot of the sellers have low/no feedback too.

    It isn't there :D

You can bar those with 5 feedback (or 4 feedback, or 3, or 0, your choice) but only if they have no credit card on file.

  • OK
    i put on my auction
"IT WILL NOT BE POSTED TO ANYONE WHO LOOKS FRAUDULENT IN ANY WAY SO ANY BIDDERS WITH BELOW 10 FEEDBACK PLEASE CONTACT ME "
as i had noticed other people had done it but someone with a feedback of 2 has contacted me saying
"Hi there iam biding on your phone but i donot know what you mean "

i dont want to email him back saying "neither do i"!!!!

    what should i ask him?
    mmmm free stufffffffff :p
  • LOL, you asked him to contact you and he has ;-)

You could ask him to give you his phone number as a sign of good faith?

  • Possibly what you should have put on the auction was 'Users with less than x feedback contact me BEFORE BIDDING'

The subtext being that you would remove bids from people who did not do so.
