Awaiting installation of V+HD box
Does anyone have any opinion/experience on the quality of the cable that Virgin are likely to supply to make the connection to the HDTV?
i.e. is it worth buying a better quality cable to replace the one Virgin will supply?

Its digital, it works or it dosnt. Unless you have a particuarly long cable run (say 5 meters) you will see no difference.0

Ok thanks for that. So, does that mean that the very expensive HDMI cables (gold plated/shielded etc) that we see advertised are not worth investing in? I've perhaps been making an assumption that Virgin will supply the most basic cable that works to keep prices down but from what you are saying it can't be bettered despite all the hype about shielding and contact quality?Awaiting a new sig0 -
I bought a gold plated cable from Amazon for £3, used Virgin's cables and there is no difference with any cable I find.0

Gold plated leads - snake oil for audiophiles. Gold makes no difference, our Virgin lead is just like 99.999% of every other one I've seen and it works.0

Hardly surprising, especially as both silver and copper offer better conductivity.flyingscotno1 wrote: »I bought a gold plated cable from Amazon for £3, used Virgin's cables and there is no difference with any cable I find.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0
