If you can get to Helsinki...which is a wonderful short break city itself ...then Nordic Ferries do breaks to Tallinn by hydrofoil which are exceptional value.......from memory think they also do extensions to Riga (though you have to make the transfer on your own). Just be aware that the Stag brigade invadeTallinn /Riga etc.at weeknds..though we understand the locals are responding positively and appropriatately !!

From Glasgow you can go to Amsterdam or Stockholm. Both of those cities have cheap flights to Latvia-tho' sadly only one flight per day.
If you look at http://www.whichbudget.com/en you can do reverse checks from any
airport you want which makes it easier to plan.
Once you have the route, then ask about hotels

Continuing this thread - I'm off to Tallinn the end of July and have just booked my flights with Estonian Air from Gatwick for £79.50 inc taxes! This is considerably cheaper the Easyjet and the flights are at more "sociable" times! I've flown with Estonian Air before and they're a great little Airline - I know this is no use for our friends "up North" but thought others of you might like to take advantage of it?

Thanks Tonys, only joking I use Liverpool regularly and I've also used Manchester and Leeds. Not much in these 3 for me. plus Blackpool now opening up more routes. Scotland's too far.
