Barclaycard paid off!

I've done it! I've paid off one of my debts - the one with the biggest interest!
Two more to go, interest frozen.
I can't even begin to tell you how much better that feels!

Well done MS! :j
Can you have a word with them when/if you close the account and just tell them what a top fella I am? Just applied for a card for the LOB deal!0 -
Well, don't shout, but I'm not closing the account. Instead, I'm going to use it for grocery/essential shopping (shoes don't count, sadly). Every time I use it, the amount spent will go into my online savings account and will then be used to pay the bill off in full. That way I'll get interest free shopping and earn a little bit of interest while I wait for the bill to come in.
SS - of course I'll put in a word. But they may think I'm a bit bonkers. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

Minnie, I won't tell you off because I'm exactly the same - the Barclaycard visa is the one card that we kept open and we now use that for some of our purchases and pay it off in full each month (being very sensible and keeping the money in the account for as long as possible to gain peanuts in interest before paying):T.
I tell myself that it helps to "repair" our credit rating for them to see us using it and paying it off each month.... To be honest, I'm not sure if it really does, but I feel better for it, and I tell myself that I am now "controlling" my available credit, which is a valuable lesson to learn in any case!!:p
