OP: Now that you have read the debt article... how far down the list Hannah_10 gave you have you got?

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=35676707&postcount=48

    Have you
    1. Have you talked to your old bank and closed your account?
    2. Have you got a new account?
    3. Have you worked out an income and expenditure sheet, or do you have an idea of what you can pay back each month?

I have found the national debtline website really useful http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php. It gives info on how to do a budget and sample letters that you can write.

Be brave and stop trying to magic the debt away, you have found that hiding and getting payday loans does not work.

It would also help if you wrote down your debts and who you owe and when you owe them. Then people may be able to suggest that you pay one off and write to the others and tell them how much you can pay them.

You have no need to be scared, they will not come round and beat you up ... but you do need to tell them that you can't pay and when you will pay.

Easy, you haven't got it so they can't have it.

    Then,
    1. Stop spending
    2. Stop using 'Payday' type loans
    3. Listen to FREE advice.
    4. Make a plan
    5. Stick to it!
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D

they cannot send bailiffs without getting a CCj and then you not paying the agreed amount and then getting court permission and evenn then.... very very unlikely and months away.

    URGENT action.

Open a new basic bank account tomorrow - barclays and Co-op cashminder are good options but there are loads of others.

Get you salary paid as cash or into the new account. Take out any money in the old account.

Close the old account and get the cards claosed and destroyed tomorrow.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Just spoke to even the smallest one on chat, payday uk who are saying that unless im with a debt management company, they cant freeze anything..

Any of you old wise heads know any good companies i can get onto now?

    I give up.

    You beat me.

Four times you have opened what is basically the same thread. 7 pages/104 replies between those 4 threads, including this reply. And you STILL haven't listened to even the most basic points have you. Still. What an utter waste of time you are proving to be.

I conclude there is absolutly no point whatsoever wasting my time on you, you are so lazy as to be uneducatable. Until such time as you decide you are prepeared to lift a finger to change your finanical situation kindly waste your time elsewhere, there are people here who are honestly prepared to make use of the resources and time and your presence here is taking that attention away from them.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

I think Hannah , that there is more to this poster than meets the eye.....suffice to say , throwing out names of debt managment companies is free advertising....

I did wander along similar thought trails myself...
