    the extra freq range i was refering to was that over and above the standard iTrip so you can set it to 87.50 which is the lowest freq that most fm radios tune into in this country and is an ideal freq to set your itrip to so you don't get any interferance from radio stations.

    I just bought one in Thailand for £3.50.
    Even the top drawer models were £10 or less.

    Even if they are made legal in principal the current proposed specs by Ofcom would still require a smaller power output than say the iTrip gives. So any devices people currently own would still be illegal to use without modification to their electronics which is only practical at the manufacture stage of the product's life.

    Smaller output? Any smaller and they probably wont work at all - doesn't take much signal from an FM station to cause interferance. Sounds like another initiative which sounds good in theory but rubbis in practice.

    Still as nothing is happening to all those people blatently using their phones whilst driving i'm not gonna worry too much about a hard to spot iTrip..
