Anyone Help...Free Fax Number for Business

Hi

I am looking for a free Fax number etc for my business,

So customers can fax me, I know it might have to be a 0870 number if I cannot get a freefone fax number, but don`t want customers charged an horrendous amount for faxing back to me

Does anyone know about fax to email....?

I have only ever had this bundled in with my ISP service (though my current one doesnt have it).

It is very much worth checking the service thoroughly first - it has been well known for these sorts of services not only to have an 0870 or 0871 telephone number but also for them to intentionally slow the receive speed of the machine connected to the other end so that the fax call takes several times longer than it should (so they get even more revenue from the telephone numbers)

You can however get 0870 telephone numbers free of charge anyway so why not just do this and buy a cheap fax machine, this will allow you to actually send faxes and ensure that there isnt any slowing scam going on at the same time.

Could you get a fax and phone all in one and switch the phone to fax as and when you need to.

How do you expect to get a Freephone Fax Number somebody has got to pay for calls.

If you go to http://customers.aceinternet.co.uk/telco/
these people will give you a free fax to e-mail 0845 number.I use them and have had no problems.

The above link is a Beano one - I have been looking for a voice to email 0845 service and there it is!

I tried the voice to email offering from acerinternet recently - it's a pity that you cannot change the outgoing message and that the caller ID is not identified. The outgoing msg says something like "the person at extension 0845 777999 is not available...". Not useable really, any other suggestions for voice to email?

The fax offering may be more useful - remember that 0845 numbers cannot be called from abroad but 0870 ones can. Can anyone trying the service report back to this thread on how good?

I tried using the Fax - E-mail worked ones out of six!!!!!!!! on sunday. Would be great if it worked!!

One that I've used for years is https://www.yac.com.

They provide an 07092 fax number and it can be received in your email in either .tiff or .pdf format. It is their "Yac Number" that is free, not the "Yac Fax". Note however that while it is free to recieve faxes the cost to the sender can be quite high (20p+ per minute). I have found it 100% reliable.
