  • I'm thinking of sending the thing to his local Police Station.... Get him to pick it up from them (phone them beforehand and explain the situation, obviously) and have him open it up in front of them. :>
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

  • I think your best bet is too pull out of the transaction, you may get bad feedback but it is better than being out of pocket, and you can always explain why you pulled out when you reply to their feedback. Simply say something along the lines of 'Was advised to pull out by PayPal due to suspicious account activity'
"As if by magic... the shopkeeper appeared."
  • Thanks for your help, guys. I've decided to refund the buyer and pull out of the transaction. Any ideas on how I do a refund? I've already accepted the funds.

I've emailed the seller of the replicas to ask if there's any way of easily identifying his item. I've explained the situation to him. Hopefully, he will be able to help me.

You can use the 'Send Money' option in your paypal account. Then 'select a recipient'. Your customers paypal address should come up then. Obviously you'll need to note why you have sent him money.

    good luck

  • No, send money will not refund the fees, and your buyer may incur fees too as a result of doing it this way!

Click on the transaction in your paypal account - this should take you to a screen with a 'refund' button on it.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

    OK, call me paranoid.

You are paranoid. If you sent it special delivery he doesnt have a hope in hell of wining a case. Ditto for item not as described if you have a reciept - he has to get a professional opinion thats its not as described. And then return it via Special Delivery too.

    Regards,

    Tony.

Did you miss the bit about him having already purchased a fake version of the same item not 5 days before buying my genuine item? He won't be able to dispute receiving the item. He will easily be able to say I sent him a fake, as he has a fake that he can show a professional. The fact that I have a receipt does not prove that I sent him that particular item. Paypal has already confirmed this. It can help, but isn't total proof. See the problem?
