One property. Three foreign buyers. Statistical probability of this occurence?
Why no interest from the "locals" ?
A huge proportion of people that live in London were born outside London. To my mind it makes little difference whether they are from Warsaw or Walsall.
A foreign buyer to me would be someone that lives abroad.0 -

True but the inference is a foreign buyer with plenty of cash.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. it obviously means that property in the UK is cheap compared to foreign countries...
and so it begins...
Less so than when the sterling/euro was heading for parity.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. and 24 within half a mile from Ealing Broadway but i'd rather live closer to Ealing Common...

Fascinating, but not clear how this is relevant to my point? - ie that 295K is fantastically cheap for a house in Ealing (esp one large enough to be divided into 2 flats).0 -
Ok so Ealing is West London. It's not where I live. My mate owns one of the halves thats why it's 295K. It's not the whole house.
All I meant was that this place is horrendously expensive and sold easy. Surely if we were in HPC mode it wouldn't have sold or he would have been offered 10k from one of you lot.
I think sellers are sticking an extra 10% on asking prices to deal with buyers looking for a bargain. Get 20% off a 30% marked up house. Nice one.We love Sarah O Grady0 -

Chain free is a positive thing from the perspective of the buyer of the property - it means that the current owner isn't in a chain so there is no dependency on them to secure an onward property so no hold up in them giving the new buyer vacant possession.
It doesn't mean they are only looking for cash buyers, those that themselves are not in a chain.
But yes, some properties are out of the price range of 1st time buyers and its only those who can bring the benefits of existing property equity with them who can afford them, like its always been.0 -

What is expensive to one person may not be to another.
As has been said earlier the area is desirable for commuting into Central London.0 -
