And Aberdeen up 7% to within £300 of all time peak.

And yes, I know, it's peak summer selling season, they'll dip again over winter just like every year, the 28 day stats are pretty noisy, and this peak may only last a week or two.
But it's nice to see the recovery is almost complete.

I'm guessing your "guest writer" is actually more accurate than the Scottish House Price Monitor?Scotland’s’ property market has gone into reverse less than a month after figures showed it was bouncing back with prices higher in almost every area of the country.
The slight rise in the average house price to £159,217 over the last six months, offering encouraging signs of recovery from the recession, has now started fall back, the Scottish House Price Monitor has found. 0 0

I don't need to guess...... I know full well the Register of Scotland www.ros.gov.uk is actually more accurate than the "Scottish House Price Monitor".“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

It was just the guest writer, and one single paragraph which got me.
Obviously, far more accurate than anyone else! They say they are up
East Dunbartonshire is up 33%. This is fantastic
 Screw the other guys!0

i don't want to get into a tedious discussion with you about this hamish, i don't know or care anything about this outfit's methodology or scottish prices generally, but others may be interested in your thoughts on the following:
 (1) ROS URL]http://www.ros.gov.uk/public/news/latest_house_prices.html#[/URL says that, as of july 2010 'Aberdeen City' was up 2.4% YoY; but
 (2) in the last *month* Aberdeen was apparently up 7.7% MoM.
so does this mean that June 2010 Aberdeen prices were fully 5% lower than July 2009 Aberdeen prices? and that Aberdeen's only up 2.4% YoY, i.e. falling in real terms? not bad but not altogether consistent with the Weimar Republic style pwoperdee inflation that you're always rabbiting on about?FACT.0
