The number 1 for me are Ecotools - they do several, not easiest to source all in the UK but the 1st pack they ever brought over cost around £10 for 5 brushes - I got most of mine from Ebay though. There's a couple of sellers selling them now but I got mine off This Seller - immediate payment but if you message saying which you'd like it'll be sorted.

I believe Boots also sell 1 or 2 now!

More info about them here: http://www.parispresents.com/EcoTools_s/70.htm

I now own every type of brush they make bought as either part of a set or individually. :o This amounts to approximately 20 brushes + 6 mini brushes and the total cost to me with postage was approx £60, so around £3 a brush.

If you look on youtube at reviews they're very very loved.
  • I have been a fan of Estee Lauder brushes. quite a bit to out lay....can't remember how much now, but I have had a eyeshadow brush for 10 years and it is still in the same condition as when I bought it! I have had some others as gifts since and they have been slung!

    Definitely Estee Lauder!:o

I really like the Ruby and Millie brushes. The texture is good and I haven't had any problems with shedding. You can sometimes buy them with those £5 No7/Ruby&Millie vouchers they are always giving out.
  • Check out the brushes from Smashbox - they aren't cheap but they are good quality. I have an eyebrow brush from them which must be 8 years old now and it is still going strong - you do get what you pay for. Check out QVC who often do good value sets as buying them individually can be expensive (or check out Ebay). Also, I buy the Boots No 7 ones like Jenniewb when they do their £5 off vouchers - you then don't have to add very much to buy a reasonable quality brush. Their powder brushes and their eyeshadow blending brushes are favourites of mine.

    Hope this helps

  • another vote for bodyshop brushes i cannot fault them at all. and they are soooo soft.
  • I'm using a no 7 brush at the minute which I do like

wondering if anyone has any tips for cleaning it. I've never really used a brush until lately and it's starting to look a bit gungy :(

I always use shampoo to clean my makeup brushes - never used the expensive specialist cleanser.

I just run the bristles under water, put a 10p sized blob of my normal shmpoo in the palm of my hand, and massage into the bristles. Rinse with clean water, and repeat if necessary until the water runs clear.

My theory is if it's good enough for my hair, it's good enough for the hair in my makeup brushes :)

Works a treat every time. Just remember to let them dry naturally after or you could ruin the bristles.
