    Yes but it isn't *quite* as simple as you suggest is it?

    Oh, did you actually read my post either? At least if a fully qualified spark does the job and then certifies his work then gives you a reciept you have many ways of coming back to him.
  • Use a registered electrician, there is more backup and a complaints procedure if anything goes wrong.

    If you are in Scotland, there are more strict building regs, but no Part P. Different building regs apply (but the same wiring regs DO apply)

    Remember the home buyers pack (scrapped in England / Wales) is still going ahead in Scotland- at last check. Certification is therefore essential
