My testing date will be about 3rd February but I'm not overly optimistic, just noticed that I'm the oldest TTC  and it's my first attempt at babies :rotfl:I know I'm one for putting this off but this takes the biscuit! I've ordered some tests off the Internet as a precaution so we shall see :D

As ever, good luck to everyone on this journey and I'm hoping to see loads of BFP's :T
  • Evening Ladies,

Well BD'ing has been postponed until Tues night as I have my smear test on Tues Morn!!!
Is anyone else ever so slightly concerned that they may be mortified whilst TTC and needing a smear done?? I have the most horrendous picture in my head that the nurse might say to me 'I'm sorry I can't do the test as you have a specimen of the male variety in the way!!!':eek::eek::eek: Argh I'd be so ashamed I think that'd be me for life, so I'm trying to put him off as much as poss!!!

Are there any clear guidelines regarding BD'ing and your smear?? I've never come across any!!! I'm always parnaoid about them!!!

Anyway haven't posted in a few days and just wanted to share to much info with you lot!!! ;)

I've been sticking to my diet and doing lots of exercise, did some swimming yesterday with a friend which was great fun although busy with kids at some points!!! And i've had some cracking walks with Connor in th epark this week aswell!!!

Congrats on your BFP Mirror and our TLP aswell!!!
Welcome to our newbies and hugs to those who need them!!!

I went for a smear the other day, and told the nurse that we were TTC. Although I'd had a BFN that morning, she didn't want to do the test because she said that there was a chance I could be preg, and that a smear could possibly cause a mc.

She told me to give in a urine sample the next week so they could do their own test.

She said to book another test after my period arrived (if it did), and if it didn't, then it wouldn't matter too much waiting to have my smear post-pregnancy.

In terms of having sex before a smear, I think you should be allright 24 hours later. I find it all a bit gross too!

    Evening ladies,

Wow another tlp, well done jules. :)

Well, cd1 for me. At least I know I'm back to normal I guess, but blimey, it's like the mc all over again!:( It hurts like hell and very uncomfortable. I was told tampons would be fine now, but literally the first few hours they didnt last 15 minutes. Sorry if tmi. Hope it calms down.

Hugs to anyone feeling a little sad x x

Thanks BB and countrybum, yeah I'm not worried about being preg as I haven't oved yet this month and its why I booked the appointment for Tues, I was just a bit grossed out about having potential swimmers still there and didn't want to be embarrassed on a lighter note maybe it will 'clear' the way so to speak!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Do you think a smear would flag anything else other than abnormalities in the cervix??? All was clear last time but its pretty thought provoking!!! :p

    *Congrats on BFPs and TLPs!*

I totally agree that when you're TTC you suddenly start seeing pregnant ladies everywhere. Then, when you're pregnant you start seeing babies and buggies everywhere! :D

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. We've only managed to bd once, yesterday, as have had family here all day today. Totally knackered now and not sure I have the energy for it tonight! I know, I know - that's not the right attitude. Must try harder! :o

Right, just off for some much needed wine and chocolate. Night!
