    Morning all

I managed not to have a mental breakdown at DH last night, which was an improvement on the day before! I went to my Mum's and we sat around chatting and doing a *little* bit of wine drinking.

My sister almost 'outed' me on FB last night though - I'd been feeling a bit queasy all afternoon (work stress, I think... and all-you-can-eat chinese buffet which I had for lunch). I mentioned it on FB, to which a friend said 'are you up the duff?'. I responded 'I don't think so', to which my little, much loved, hugely tactless sister wrote a whole paragraph about how we shouldn't have told anyone we're trying because any time I feel sick or don't fancy a drink, people will think I'm knocked up.

We hadn't told anyone. I made her remove that comment PDQ! Everyone's going to assume anyway, because we're relatively newlyweds, in our mid twenties, and DH has a son already. I just don't want to broadcast it too much, there are people on my FB who I work with and they don't know...

What about you all? Have you told people you're trying, or are you letting them assume, or are you flat out denying everything whenever anyone asks?!

Close call!!! We're not telling anyone, we want to keep it to ourselves until we have something to tell!! I thinks (for me anyway) there's added pressure if others know. I have told my best friend because its not been straightforward and sometimes I want to talk about it and not just to DH!!

    have you told many people?

Well, some. [strike]I[/strike] We got a bit overexcited and so there are probably about 5 of my close friends that know plus my family. But I don't see a few of my close friends that often (blimmin' geography!) or my dad and stepmum so there's not much pressure or agitation from that side.

And me. But in an I-love-him way, not in an I'm-going-to-stab-him-in-his-sleep way.

    Although when he's snoring...

Well LittleMissGiggle, I have POAS far too early so you don;t have to! I knew it was too early, but I have been unable to help myself, did a First Response and ... BFN :( Sigh.

I thought, cos my cycle has been 30 days the last two months, that as it's day 29 it might show. Last pregnancy, I tested positive on day 39 of what was at that time a 40-day cycle, so you can see where I was coming from.

Anyway, it ain't over yet, but I really did think it would be a BFP :(

Should have waited till Saturday like I said I would.

I've gone into lurk mode. My relaxed month finished with AF showing her ugly head. Went to the dr as I wasn't feeling well, he prescribed antibiotics and asked if I was pregnant, told him I didn't know and that we were trying. He asked a few more questions and booked me in for a CD21 blood test. He also asked if I was using opks, I said yes and he told me to get rid of them and any ovulation calendars, etc . His only advice was to BD every 2nd night. Feeling a bit lost at the moment, don't know what CD i'm on and refusing the urge to work it out :o. Doctors orders, lol.
Sorry about AF thumbsdown.gifGood that doc is taking you on and trying to help. Also understand why he said to chuck them out - stressful TTCing isn't happy TTCing. Everyone's different though, eh? :) Hope it works for you! :)

I'm with the hopeful part of your DH :D
Thanks dude. I'm really doubting it though. And in all honestly, if it was a bean, I'd be worrying about the level of spotting I have had :o
Thanks Laura, i must admit it does sound good but i cant help but convince myself its in my head and that it can't possibly happen!

To add to my ss, after i wrote my original ss message i had 30 mins of really bad cramps, and I've just been to the loo and there was a little bit of red spotting :S

geeez this is going to be a looooooong week. Maybe I should find us a song to pass the time....

Here's hugs to all that want them!!!
    Song! Song! Song! Song! :D

    Good luck though dude :)

It's Hubby Hubs birthday today and I'm "working from home" so that I can prepare for this evening. I've arranged for his family to come over and have a little surprise bash but I think he's rumbled me.

I've been doing a little bit of work, making some cakes (which I then dropped on the floor - shush, don't tell anyone :rotfl:), doing a bit more work, cooking chicken and pizza, on a conference call, then icing cakes.......he better appreciate it :D
    :T Happy Birthday Mr FA!

    Back again!!!!

I wrote on this thread a while back that my wife and I had been trying for a baby (we have a 4 yr old child) for 3 yrs but with no success! Well I just found out that the reason is because of not having all normal cells so the Dr is making an appointment for us to go to the fertility clinic and I was wondering what happens now and what steps are available to help us have another child?

    Cheers!
Can't help you with the fertility clinic business, but welcome back  and good luck! :)

Good advice if you could manage that (every 2nd day). Glad you have found a caring doctor:)

What do you mean by not having normal cells?
What usually happens at the clinic, is lots of questions (bring a temp chart if you have them, otherwise recent dates of your wife's period).

Then the tests. I suppose you've had some since they found abnormal cells. Have she had internal scans? That usually is the first, then clearing the tubes. There are several ways including HSG, Hycosy and Lap & dye. Lap & dye is the most comprehensive one that checks and fix her insides. Oh and a Semen Analysis for you.

After that, they'll decide on the treatment. It could be something as simple as some Clomid tablets, IUI or IVF/ICSI.

Good luck, and let us know how you got on:)
