  • I do support work Catt and phunkles and I love it, this afternoon we were out doing some gardening and theres many a time I've supported someone to college but with the job comes the heartache, as you become very emotionally involved with your service users! Presently the job does not require any formal qualifications but a thirst for knowledge and preperation to take an SVQ3.

Oh wonder we work for the similar places Deborah - I work for a company that do care services for Learning Dis/Autistic adults among other things but I work in the Head Office.

Where abouts are you Deb - my DH works on George St in Edinburgh and mentioned there was a little chaos today with the road closures though he was over in Helensburgh for a meeting so missed it all!

I'm in Glasgow on the south side!! I was lucky to be working all day so didn't see much traffic chaos, DH on the other hand was all over the shop and getting severly peeved with traffic!!

You should get out the office and experience the work that those on the front line do, its very very rewarding. I work with 1 one woman with autism and have come in contact with many with the condition, I find it fascinating!!!

Yeah I was talking to our autism specialist today as I was printing some photo cards for our service users to help them understand. It definately is fascinating though I'm ashamed to say I haven't had any experience working with disabled people so not sure I could do it though I have a lot of respect for those who do! I'm really glad you enjoy it and help people make so much more of their lives :D

Sorry to hear this juicy, it's hard dealing with stress. It may not help now but waht will happen when you get pregnant? will you be (eventually) less stressed? try to start moving your mind towards when you are pregnant, how will things be different?

This might sound odd but I have started to develop a little detachment and therefore, less stress by thinking - if i was pregnant tomorrow, i would have to stop working by x will, the world stop? will i be more focused on my health and baby? etc

saying that, i did 11 hrs non stop today... so feel free to ignore me :p

Thank you so much for this lovely reply - I will try to start thinking your way! xx

Gah - because of my late ov FF is now saying I'm not due on until 21st! Guess my testing date won't be until 26th then? Am so confused, lol. The last 4 days my temps have also flatlined - have never had that before - usually they're all over the shop. Weird.
