Can I use my mob free mins from USA to UK

Am travelling to States and want to know if I can use my anytime,any network free minutes to call home in UK. Standard rate is just under £1 per min on my mob so any saving ideas would be appreciated. Thanx

No you can only use your minutes to make calls whilst in Uk. You cannot use them whilst roaming elsewhere.

You'd be best buying calling cards whilst out there.

Unless you are going for a long time?

Then buying a local network SIM would be more appropriate.

You haven't mentioned your network or prepay/postpay.... have you asked your network if they offer any special rates for usage abroad?

Unless absolutely necessary I would not use my phone overseas - US is

In America you get charged for airtime - that means you also get charged for incoming calls (even if you get a local sim, unless they have changed since I was there last year?).
