Electric Shower problems

Hi and thanks for reading this.
I have recently had a complete house overall, included a new bathroom. Part of this included getting an electric shower which I was advised was very powerful. Anyway it seemed to be working for the first 3 days of use (not pumping powerful but a reasonable flow of water coming from the shower) however the during this time the temperature adjuster knob would not turn anti clockwise (cold) and only clockwise to hot. on the fourth and every day since (been using it for nearly two weeks now) the shower stops and starts combined with very low flow, goes very cold and very hot, the knob now turns clockwise and anti clockwise however this has no impact on the temperature. I have told the plumber about this but he keeps saying that these are top of the range showers.
What do I do? Who is accountable?
I look forward to hearing any advice available.
Thanks
Carol

Good morning: what is the model of shower and who supplied it...you or the installer?

Hi there
Thanks for reading and your message.
It's an Aqualisa 9.5 Quartz electric shower.
Strangely enough this morning was my most trouble free yet, it stopped briefly, went cold then started again. But most mornings havn't been as trouble free.
Thanks0 -
oh yes and a combo of electrician and plumber installed it.0

Yes but who SUPPLIED it as asked by CH? Did you buy it personally for the contractor to fit or did your contractor buy it to fit himself?
1. If you bought it and if the shower is faulty then its your job to deal with the people from whom you purchased it.
2. If you bought it and the shower is OK but the installation is not up to scratch then you have to deal with your contractor.
3. If your contactor both purchased and installed it you only have to dela with him.
The liens between 1 and 2 can be grey. 3. is just so easy for you - tell him to fix it. But which one is it?

ok here goes. . . . . I was with the contractor when the shower was purchased, and I was relying on his judgement on the right shower.0

Ok so you purchased it based on his advice and free-issued it to him to fit. Whether he was with you at the time isn't relevant
As it was recent fit your first action is to call him back in to investigate why it isn't working properly. If he says its the shower which is faulty then you have to take it up with the place which you purchased it from. You may find that Aqualisa will come and inspect it in situ in due course but if they determine that its an installation fault they will charge you.

hi again
thanks v much for your advice, much appreciated.0 -
Shower could possibly have been connected to cold water rather than mains water, or there could be some debris inside the pipe causing a restriction. If its neither then most likely cause is a faulty shower, do you have decent high/flow pressure mains water to your roofspace tank?Norn Iron Club member No 3530
