That's great Iris - it's so annoying when things get discounted when you have only just bought them. I'm going to try complaining next time.Mortgage free Jan 2012

It's definitely worth complaining. I use to find it embarrassing but not any more. I'm also an expert on haggling. OH use to walk away because he was embarrassed but he loves it now.
Yesterday, We had a run out to see where OHs interview is on Tuesday so he knows where he's going and baby blue had a ride in his new car seat. It's forward facing , it was so funny seeing his little face in the car as things went past his window. The depot where OH has got his interview is hugeee and he's worked for some massive companies. He's feeling quite good in himself at the moment. So hopefully something work wise will turn up soon so he doesn't have to go back to his normal job.
We watched a good film last night - Unstoppable with Denzil Washington. We got it on offer at Mr T's. It's nice to take time out to do that as we don't often get the change nowadays with the babies being up late some nights.
I also still need to list more stuff on ebay. I'm doing well with my cashba ck /ebay / survey target as it was £600 for the year and I've exceeded that already! Go me. I'll update figures at the end of the month in my signature to reflect.
I got another £15 on tolunnna yesterday which has spurred me on as I've not being doing much survey wise at all.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
I hope OH's interview goes well, will he find out quite soon after the interview?
I need to keep on at Toluna as think i'm nearly at payout and it's a bit quiet on the survey front generally for me at the moment.
Might look out for that film as we have lovefilm at the moment.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Well after a day of shopping for a new shirt, pants, tie and a waistcoat , he decided not to go to the interview as the presentation bit he just couldn't get his head around it. It was a daft one that I took one look at and thought ..I can't even be bothered to read that! He normally enjoys presentations but he's not in the right frame of mind yet to be doing one he's not comfortable with. Plus this one was still travelling 50 miles a day. He's still got the other job interview lined up which is local ( the one with the hard tests ) and another job has come up on our doorstep which is mega money. So all is not lost ..plus he looked well fit in his new clobber !
Good news re the mortgage ..:j they have sent new paperwork through and the mortgage has come down twice since we first applied. £70 a month less now..lets hope it comes down even more and it ends up free !
We spent the day at Lytham st Annes yesterday and had dinner at Pizza Express ..ouch at £100 but it was a fathers day treat for FIL and it was worth it. I had a £10 Mr T voucher to use there so that brought it down but then you have to tip don't you!
I also bought some bits for the new house too. Spends are quite high at the moment and we are over budget for the month by about £300 but its not on the credit card and we aren't in the overdraft so I'm not too bothered as I will scrape it back in July and OH gets paid in a few days.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Not worth stressing out about the interview if the job wasn't right for him. At least there are other jobs coming up. DH is unhappy at work again but it's hard striking a balance between pay and hours in his profession.
Moving is an expensive time so your spends are bound to be higher.
How is the packing going? Any closer to a moving date?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Oooohhh, brave Mr Blue, that's a hard call to make but if he feels uncomfortable about the interview process then the job is probably not right for him. Here's hoping for one of the others - at least there are jobs coming up, which is great
. And maybe the fact he turned down the interview will make him a bit happier about his current job 'ok, I want to leave, but I'm not THAT desperate'
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

No he's that desperate GG! He can't go back there..and you know men don't often say that. He's off on the sick atm. I've been really worried about him. He is well known for what he does though and he does get approached a lot about jobs so we aren't worried ...yet!
No Cath and I wish we just knew when it's going to be now. Lots of silly questions are coming back and forth..have I been burgled...stuff about the planning permission for the extension. All stuff we have answered already but apparently they don't read the forms you've filled in and its easier for them just to ask again and receive the reply in a letter. It's hard not to take it personal and I have thought that its the buyer causing problems but in reality its the solicitor not reading the documents. I'm hoping for an appointment this week with them to go over the deeds etc and my 18 yo DS has to come with us too to sign documents to say he doesn't have a claim in the new house...obviously his diary is so fullso he can only come on certain days!
The boxes have no reached the ceiling ..I'm not kidding ..I think the plan for today is to swop over my chandeliers to "proper" light fittings and to take down the boys wardrobes which we aren't taking with us and burn it in the fire pit ... now where are my marshmellows!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
I'm sure he will know which is the right option when it becomes available.
Ouch at the cost for Pizza.:eek:0 -
