well done on being debt free, it's such a great feeling isn't it.0

Wow! What an achievement - £35k paid off in such a short amount of time - well done! :T0

Thank you all.
We have been very lucky with money coming in here and there and that helped us in paying it off but I must also say I've worked very hard too and I think It is easier to watch the pennies more when you don't work and have time to shop around for better insurance/ shopping deals etc.
Another £2 into the pot as we forgot to do the lotto last night!
The pressure washer hose doesn't fit so we still haven't done the drain. I wouldn't mind but it was a genuine part too. We had a trip to B n Q and we found a universal fitting hose ..great but now the gun doesn't fit so I now need to reserve a pack with a gun and hose in it at another store. Its still cheaper than the original one but its all the hassle that comes with it.
We spotted a Buddha water feature when we was at B n Q that I want for Mothers day/my birthday in May , normally we'd just have got it but I'm trying to figure out a way to get it cheaper. Hmmmm. DHs work has a voucher scheme where I could buy £100 of B N Q vouchers for £90 so that would work out at £109.98 but I'd still like it cheaper.I don't know of any OAPs so that's out of the question. (Edit My mums an OAP ( sorry mum but you are! lol ) but she's out of the country until May ) There may be some type of sale on at Easter but I presume that'll be paint and similar. Any ideas anyone ?I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Half past 10 or is that 9..? and I've done loads already..washed 2 loads, cooked a whole chicken for sandwiches this week, made a HM chicken tikka massala for tea and a HM Victoria sponge is baking as I type. Just need to make the buttercream next .
I want to blitz the house today and get it clean whilst DH is at working ( I wish he got paid more for when he's working a weekend ) so the bedding is stripped off and needs to be remade again.
My item is up on Ebay tonight with 6 watchers and no bids- I hope it sells ! I keep checking.
I'm hoping to get some surveys done today too. I think I need more hours in the day!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

well done £35K is amazing, mortgage will be gone in no time:D
I don't know how people do it, we don't earn that in a year, let alone have it to pay stuff off - it is truly amazing.
Well done you:jOPs so far £42,139

Iris - B and Q do cashback via quidco for spends in store. You register your card online with them first. (I bet you already do that anyway but thought i would mention it.) They might have another weekend where you spend over £50 and get 15% off too if you watch out for it. They did it before christmas a few times as we got the cooker hood and kitchen taps and plug socket covers then. All helps.0

Well done on paying off that credit card debt, what an achievement.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

Grateful - Yes a lot better , the last 4k or so we've just paid off but even having that amount didn't really bother me as I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. I still wake up thinking about money but that's about the mortgage now!
Sarahevie - I've been on mat leave for 2 years now and I'm amazed how much I've changed in that time. I no longer need the newest mobile phone or an expensive haircut! Maybe I've grown up. You know how to stretch money. I think what you do is amazing.
Michelle - Thanks. I'm not with Q but with TCB. They do 3.53% for a reserve and collect order so I was going to use that. Do Quidco still have a sign up fee? I did have a look about registering my card with them but couldn't find anything on there site on it when I looked a few weeks ago. One of B n Qs 15% off weekends would be good right now.
The cakes finished, why doesn't my cake look like a Nigella one??I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Yup - still £5 for the year, so probably not worth it. They did do cashback at one point from quidco itself just for registering the card but i don't think they do that any more.0
