Hey iris - nice to see you about.

Don't go stressing Mrs. Birth is a really personal experience, and we are all entitled to feel however we want to about the thing. It is scary and wonderful and lots of feelings inbetween, and this is your diary so you can say exactly what you want. Hope it made you feel better writing it down.

No advice as such, just as someone else who goes to the dark side, you sound a perfectionist like me, and also liking to control everything. Accept you can't control it and it might feel less stressful.

Hopefully if you are at home like you plan to be, there will be a lot less stress and you are not likely to be in the same place twice.

Exam wise, i blooming had so many internals when having Ds1. Some of them hurt more than the blooming contractions i tell you. If you were at hospital maybe have a student midwife in as they stay with you, and the one i had was lovely. Far more gentle than the others, but not able to give the drugs.

Hope it all happens very soon for you as the waiting is the hardest isn't it.

No advice from me - i'm a baby free zone (and after being with my sister for majority of her first labour and that put me off - especially seeing the midwife do an internal sweep - eww!)

But I do want to pass on my best wishes - have looked at your thread a few times in last few days hoping for an update - have everything crossed for you!

Don't worry about 'whiteing' stuff off - it is your thread - write what you like - the people that subscribe to your thread won't mind (I don't!)

Hun, you can moan and whine on here all you like. My thread is full of it and hardly anything to do with MFWs but I post it anyway just so I can compare my moods with certain things. I get low sometimes and I hate myself for it when I know I am far better off than a lot of people. People can choose to read it or not {shrugs} But as most of the people that read my diary are lovely I know that I will get some advice and feedback on any of the matters I post about. Its about you and your family as well as your mortgage free dream. Its the whole journey to get there.
Its a shame that something that happened last time has been etched on your memory but I hope that that will fade as you have a nice labour this time. Maybe tell the midwife of your concerns and they might possibly have someone that can sit with you.

You lot really are the loveliest people.:grouphug: Thank you for your words they are so comforting and are nice to read. :) It's nice to know that I don't just waffle to myself sometimes. :)

It really is fear of the unknown and loss of control for me here ( I know I've been through it 5 times before. It's crazy!) but in my 30's I have taken control more of my life, I've learnt to say No to people, learnt to be slightly selfish for once, learnt to say what my needs are for a change but all whilst still being the perfectionist (like Michelle rightly says) and having the perfect clean home, full fridge of food, hair and make up always done etc. It really is all out of my hands now and that's the hardest part.

Well he's a day late now, seeing as his dad is late for EVERYTHING (unlike me) I shouldn't have expected any different. I still think it will be soon though as all the little signs are there to say he's on his way. Im hoping for a daytime birth as little lady sleeps in our room so if it is in the night then I'll have to give birth on my cream carpet downstairs and to a control cleaning freak perfectionist like me that wouldn't half make me me twitchy! :) I'd have to have the carpet spray on standby! :rotfl:

Anyway, time to try and get back to sleep.

    I'll update soon

    Hi Iris,

I have only just realised you are having a home birth, how wonderful. Is it your first one, hopefully that will give you some more control and make labour easier too. I really hope you're not waiting too much longer.

Its , if all goes to plan, my 3rd home birth Cath. Hb's are so much better as your more relaxed in your own environment and then yes you have the mess but you also have the joy of just being together as a family..something that doesn't really happen in hospital as there's too many people about. Saying that I was out of hospital 2 hours after giving birth last time as my lovely community MW was on the phone telling them not to keep me in. suited me! :)

LP Id love a water birth, they sound so peaceful don't they, I haven't planned one though as like you when I go into labour its normally quick and it takes ages to fill the pools apparently...wish my bath was big enough! :)

I've just been to Mr. T's for more bread , and bought a few essential's for what I told myself was my last supper... Bacon, warmed brie and branston pickle on a baguette. Gorgeous. :D I've been craving one for ages but as we pregnant women aren't suppose to have soft cheeses I've not had it so often this pregnancy. I was tempted to pour myself a glass of white but decided to wait ..boy am I going to enjoy that glass when it's all over. :)

Does anyone watch "An idiot abroad?" It's on tonight and I love it, it's so funny and I really laugh out loud watching it, something I never do! I'm really looking forward to it later.

I'd like a homebirth next time to keep it more relaxed. Had fab labour with DD despite her being huge! I know someone who had a waterbirth at home and said it was wonderful.

Have recently started watching 'an idiot abroad' and can't wait to catch up on them! 'inbetweeners' is another true LOL programme! I think all that comedy is sure to get things going for you.

waterbirhts sound amazing. I have a clotting problem and my body likes to try and bleed to death immediatly afterwards so delivery room, IV line and lots of bags of syntocin to make uterus contract tight as possible once cord cut for me. Bizzarly I have highly medical birhts but without pain relief which tends to confuse people. especially the go to hospital and you WILL get an epidural brigade.

I would kill for brie and cranberry panini or a soft boiled egg or mr whippy icecream but no for 4 months

Iris looking forward to your announcement! Hope u have a great birth! I was an epidural girl and definately will be again should I be lucky enough to have another little one, haha but I don't even drink so I think pain relief in birth is my luxury haha, oooh and I love that gas and air :) Loving all the baby talk, getting even more broody...
