    Be aware that if they dispute the fault (insist there isn't one) then it would be Small Claims time and you'd likely need an independent report to prove the fault (doesn't need to show why the fault's occurred since it's under 6 months old, just that a fault definitely does exist). If you win then you'd get all costs back, if you don't then it's more money lost. But by all means try and pursue as much as possible with the retailer before going that far. Just warning you though since even you've been contradictory about whether it's an actual fault or not!

    Just shows that often it's better to buy online in order to obtain the DSR rights; particularly if you're unsure whether the item will be fit for your use or not.
