Hi Bobjob
I'm really sorry you received this incorrect letter, particularly when you were about to leave for a holiday.
I also apologise for the late reply to your email about the same subject. The amount of contact this mistake caused was quite extraordinary.
Fully take your point about using email more. Whilst we are legally obliged to advise certain things by letter, I'm sure there are many instances where email would be both quicker and more acceptable. Will gladly pass this on.
Sorry again Bobjob, but pleased you found my explanation useful.

Hi,
I have today phoned up and arranged to switch from the standard tariff to the saveonline 4 which I was advised would save me around £155 per year :-)
Having read about 3 previous versions of the online tariff (that I wasn't aware of), would any of these be better do you think? Also, will I have been charged for switching today? I certainly wasn't informed of any such charges.
Thanks.0 -
Hi gazsharpe
Moving from a standard tariff to Saveonline 4 does not involve any cancellation charges or other fees.
I'm afraid versions 1 to 3 of the Saveonline tariff are no longer available.
Hope this answers your questions. Give me a shout if you need any more details as will be happy to help.

I switched to Saveonline 2 (from Saveonline) in July upon a recommendation from EON that it would be cheaper.
I am confused. The Saveonline product was priced at:
Electricity: first 69kwh @23.08 p ; subsequent at 9.77p.
Gas: first 198 kwh@ 6.214p; subsequent @ 3.008p.
Saveonline 2
Electricity: first 198kwh @ 33.08p; subsequent @ 9.77p
Gas: first 367kwh @ 6.214p; subsequent @ 3.008.
Surely this is more expensive?0 -
Hi Equaliser
Must admit, I'm a bit confused too. Saveonline 1 and 2 were both based on our standard prices less discount for paying by Direct Debit and managing the account online.
Our standard unit prices haven't increased since either Saveonline 1 or 2 were released. Consequently, the rates for both versions should be the same.
The online discount may have changed depending on the area you are in but not the unit prices.
Where are you taking the prices from? Are they from your bills?
Drop an email to the address in my Profile if you would like me to check this out for you. Will be happy to do so.
