Has anyone anything good to say about 1st Central Car Insurance

It's that time of year for me, Insurance is soon due for renewal
I've tried all the comparison websites and the best quote I've got so far is from 1st Central.
Their quote is about £40 cheaper than my existing insuraers renewal quote but I ask myself is it worth it
I've searched the net for reviews and havent found any glowing reports.
Some say that they are just a broker
a lot of reports really put them down
I read somewhere that your not automatically covered to drive other cars as you are with most policies on the market
I'm currently with Churchill who's reviews are only slightly better
I'm trying to decide wether its worth the 40 guid to switch or is it better to stay with the devil I know
I tried telling Churchill that I'd found a better quote to see if they'd match it but they wouldn't budge an inch
Has anyone here any experience with 1st Central
Any recommendations?

They are everything that you could imagine a bad Insurer being.

There are more threads on MSE about them and none are complimentry.
They really are best avoided especially for such a small amount in premium0 -

I notice that all those posts you referred me to are over a year old
I also notice that one of their staff was replying to posts
Is there any chance they may have improved?
Does anyone have more recent experience with them?IWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
They are not over a year old, they started over a year old, if you read through the threads you will see many are still being contributed to, for instance this one https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1669745
Their claims / customer service appears to have got worse since last year, very recently their claims are still awful but some posters are reporting they are managing to get through to customers services / get emails answered.
With regard to the member of staff answering, he promised well over a year to make certain changes and has done sweet fa about it.
If you go with 1st Central do not say you were not warned when you have problems.0 -

They are a new company and are doing it on the cheap so they can offer cheap premiums. This means less staff and lots of customers and they cannot cope.
The policy cover is well below average as well0
