  • Laithwaites Wine has an offer on throughout November. 20% off of ALL champagnes & sparkling wines. Includes brand names and some more interesting sparklers.

This offer is open to all and it's free delivery if you spend over £100.

They are linked to Nectar too so you can use your points or earn points.

These are all on 2 for £10 and included in the double up promotion as they are all Tesco Finest:

  • Groupon sold a £9 voucher last week to use at online wine, beer and spirit retailer Slurp (as mentioned in the MSE weekly newsletter). I checked out Slurp and thought I would get a selection of beers from around the world, so bought the voucher.

When I looked at the site last week, the minimum number of bottles for each beer was 6 - today (the day the voucher is valid from) they have changed the minimum to 24 bottles of each beer.

Very misleading of Groupon/Slurp to do this I feel. I don't want 24 bottles all of the same beer, I wanted to mix and match ie 3 different bottles at 6 of each (18) or 4 different beers at 6 of each (24).

  • Found a Cabernet Shiraz for £2.17 a bottle at Corney & Barrow in their bin ends: http://www.corneyandbarrow.com/s-26-bin-ends-wine-clearance.aspx
You do have to pay £12.50 delivery for your order, but if you're buying a bulk load for Christmas then it's a really good deal.

Tesco Wine 500 Clubcard pts 1 Dec doesn't work

have just read the Tesco voucher code item in today's MSE email, and ordered 12 bottles wine online at Tesco Wine. Went through every screen, used the code, payment taken BUT the extra 500pts were NOT applied. It's just taken me 40mins (Clubcard lines V busy)to be told that the code is NOT valid because it's not been sent to me by Tesco, & not linked to my clubcard. He would not give me the points.
I was using it to offset my £5 delivery charge, so now I have to phone another number if I want to cancel the order. So beware!:(

Exactly the same thing happened to me the last time a code was given, the extra points didn't appear on the receipt and when I rang Tesco about it they said they'd appear after the October/November cut off for issuing the Clubcard vouchers. When the points still didn't appear I rang them again and they then said what you stated, that they weren't added because the code hadn't been sent by Tesco. After much cajoling on my side, they eventually gave in and said as a gesture of good will they'd add them this time.

ASDA have loads of decent wine on offer at £3 a bottle. Why mess with the delivery companies?

I agree, if you are not an 'aficionado' and just like a nice drinkable glass of wine then you cannot beat asda.
Unfortunately their prices have shot up recently - in one week a bottle that cost £2 went up to £2.99!!!
