Car Radio Unlocking

Radio's are locked to deter the little s*ds pinching them.

So why do i/we supply the numbers?
If I thought you could drive to a Ford dealer, produce evidence of ownership
and get your code quickly and FREELY , we /i would not supply the number
( which is easily found via the web)

But for example, in the last couple of weeks have been asked for numbers from cars which are beyond the first flush of youth , radio's which are ?? not worth stealing.
Bigger problem are sat navs which are being pinched.

Isn't this like the mobile phone locking once it's stolen?

Most people loose their numbers because of the battery going flat.
If your mobo goes flat, a quick charge gets it going, you dont have to pop down to car phone warehouse and plead for a number.
Hope this little ramble makes sense.

I have Ford Mondeo having radio 5000 RDS EON which is locked for months now. I've been told that it's better to buy a new sound system than to have my existing one decoded. The serial number is: M156445. Can anybody help me ??? It'll be really appreciated.

Hi there

the battery went on my ford transit connect and when I reconnected it I now I need a radio code which I dont know.

Details on the back of the radio are as follows:

Part number: 2T1F-18C838-BC
Serial number: M228277
Model: 400 RDS
and under the barcode it says 10R-020339

Please help me if you can!
