Hi I have a ford escort estate which keep in spain. I disconected the battery while I was back in the UK and I put the code 9727 when I returned which was written in the audio guide but it didnt work. I do not have the model or serial no to hand. Can you suggest how I could get the code off the registration no only without going through the dealer. It Is X 304 BNU

The code is not linked to the reg and the code you have is probably the one a dealer would give, for the radio originally fitted. Pull the radio out and post the M****** serial number and we will give you the code.

Thanks for reply, when I tap in the code number should the number show up on the window? I have tried the 5 at the end but I think one of the wires is wrong.
The code should show in the display as you enter it. Does the unit have a "select" button. If it does then press after inputting the code.

    Whoosh !
    Where am I ?
    What year is it ?
    Who is the president ?

I started a new thread yesterday asking for advice on where to get an adaptor plate so that I could fit a new radio in a Ford Ka. (post 4562 on this thread refers). The next thing I know is that I've been moved to this thread .
BTW thanks molerat for your input, I was already thinking about the best way to connect it electrically but that loom adaptor in your link will do the job admirably.
  • just bought 2nd hand fiesta and dunno the code for it the serial is m146109.
    thanks in advance.
