Car Radio Unlocking

Unfortunately, there is no V or M prefix - the radio is made by Sony, apparently.
I have heard that these particular cd units have to be sent back to Sony when you lose the code.0 -
What is the model N0.?
Car Audio & GPS Navigation
Audio Receivers: The model number is located on the faceplate. (e.g., CDX-GT200)
Speakers/Accessories: The model number is located on the packaging and on the manual.(e.g., XS-LD126P5)
GPS: The model number is located on the back, bottom or in the antenna compartment. (e.g., NV-U74T)0 -
The only thing I can find is the part number: 93AB-19B160-AD0

Needs to go to a radio specialist to recover the code. See https://www.dndservices.co.uk/ford-2040.html for details0 -
Ford 2040

Sony
As originally fitted to the :
Ford Escort
Ford Granada Scorpio
Ford Orion
This unit is powered by a seperate Ford Radio / Cassette which will have its own unique code number that must be entered before the Code can be entered into this CD Player.
Please note that code entry is only possible when four lines " - - - - " are flashing in the display. If the display continually shows four static bars " - - - - " then the unit may be codelocked and will need to be left switched on up for up to two hours to reset before another code entry attempt is possible. If it does not reset after this time, then all of your code entry attempts may have been used up
is the four bars flashing?0 -
Thanks for your help, people!
All four bars are flashing, but I have tried a couple of codes already, so I only have a few attempts left before it locks itself.
To be honest, the car isn't worth the price of paying to unlock the cd, so I suppose I'll have to survive with just the radio. Typical!0 -
Don't give up maybe I can help but will be a few days wed./thur next week OK.
Don't enter random codes Save the remaining attempts !!0 -
