Sorry. Serial numbers beginning with a V are not available free. They are Ford dealer or radio specialist dealer only as the codes are not calculated from the serial number and access is needed to Ford's database to retrieve the code.

Trackman, thank you very much for your prompt and accurate response. Worked perfectly, only I gave you the details of the old cassette radio taken out of the car, instead of the CD unit replacing it. My mistake, but should you find the time to look at another, then the details are as follows. Before I get to that, I am a great believer that one good turn deserves another. So should you have any pressing concerns, particularly about motors, BMW, Ford, Citroën etc then I have some knowledge of common and less known faults. But do try me on other points of interest and I will reply, if I can be of help. Thanks again and hope you might be able to help me again.

Hi Trackman I'd really appreciate your help - or anyone's help if you are fed up of churning out codes!
My battery went flat after I left my Astra's side lights on overnight and I have no record of the radio/cd code. Vauxhall dealers want around £25 to give it me (oooh missis!) Hope you can help.
