This is the first time I've ever posted on a forum, so I hope I'm doing it right. I have a 2004 Focus, and the radio went dead, then revived after a swift thump - only to ask for the code, which I don't have. I've extracted the serial number using wire clotheshanger to get the radio out, as on u-tube and it's M232889. (The date on the sticker is 2008 so it can't be the original radio). Are you able to help?

Thanks very much Dave N. Interestingly, that number is hand written on the radio's sticker in the panel titled "Dealer". I wondered if it might be the code, but thought it was a bit silly writing it on the radio!

Codes for V serials are not available free. There is a problem obtaining these in the UK at the moment and the current price seems to be around £10 on Ebay (and UKbookshelf which is often cheaper on weekdays). There is usually a supplier on Ebay from Estonia? doing them for around £4 but he does not seem to be listing at the moment
