The reset method that works is to Press AS and the ON Button at the same time

You should get the "Beep"....then leave it SWITCHED ON ....UNDISTURBED for it to reset (could be several hours)

Then , once several hours have passed , enter your code.

If correct , then you should get the "Beep"...and all should work.

    I

To wire it up to a battery charger to get it to remain on for a few hours i need to make sure i connect it properly. Having trouble with the diagram on the radio for postive/negative terminals.
    Does this look correct?

A car radio has two battery supplies...The main one via your ignition switch and a permanent one used for memory retention of radio stations etc.

    On your diagram
The -ve (ground) is correct and the positive is the + just above it.

The 12V that you have quoted is used for the memory retention and is not required at this stage.

Don`t forget to connect a speaker to any of the + and - on the middle connector (eg.... the RL pair)
  • Hello,

Does anyone know the code for the following Ford radio, serial number M058740? The garage disconnected the battery and the code in our handbook is incorrect-AAGGHH!!

    Many thanks

Is there a Security Number anywhere on the radio labels?

Should be letters+numbers in the format TOA123 or TA123 or just A123 at the end of a barcode.

Thanks for that.. tried it tonight. no initial 'beeb' and the radio turns itself off still after hour/hour and half. :(
I think that means i have gone as far as i can eh? Do you know what Vauxhall dealers charge to unlock it again?

Assuming that you are carrying out all the instructions properly , I reckon your radio might be faulty and would be very reluctant to take it to your Vauxhall Dealer as they could not really do anymore than what you have tried already....apart from charging you money plus VAT for the privilege

Perhaps time for a replacement radio ....with a working code

It worked in my friends car originally but, yeah, looks like the price of getting it sorted could be more then a new one these days. ;)

Thanks for all the help though.. appreciate it. cheers. D
