Thanks, we will definitely give that a try first and see if we can get hold of the number that way. I gather I will be back with the serial number either real soon or some time tomorrow.

Which buttons depend on the radio model and this information will normally be in the User Audio Guide...It is quite often Preset Buttons 1 & 5 , or 2 & 6 or similar.

Ford Serial Numbers usually begin with M or L or C or V plus six digits....and sometimes the serial number is just seven digits. If the radio is a Ford FIC model made in Mexico or Brazil then it can be 3 letters+six digits

If you cannot obtain the Serial Number by pressing buttons, then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard and ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING quoted in order for the code to be calculated
