thank you very much, your a star.
  • Is there an easy way to find the serial number for the radio? I don't fancy pulling the whole thing apart. We drive a Ford Falcon Forte AU Mark 2 - 2000 model. It doesn't look like I can get at the radio to look for any serial number. It's showing the word code, but only after it's been switched on for a while. It's usually showing err...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. ;-)

SORRY...NO MULTIPLE REQUESTS ON THIS FORUM

Single code requests for personal use only.

This is to deter car radio thieves, traders and folk who sell this free information to others for money
i only requested a second code code as the first radio did not work with that code ,so i`m trying another radio not to abuse, i appreciate any help thanks k

Hi, I have a 206 with a RD3 radio. (no brand on the front)

Is it possible to extract the radio code before I turn it off? The dealer has no record of it, and I need to disconnect the battery - maybe it does not even have a code - I'm not sure!

    Thanks

If you do not have the code then the radio will have to be identified by quoting its Make+Model and Serial Number.

This normally means removing it from the dasboard and quoting ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.

On some radios it is possible to find the Serial Number by pressing buttons.
Which buttons depend on the radio model and this information will normally be in the User Audio Guide...It is quite often Preset Buttons 1 & 5 , or 2 & 6 or similar.

Ford Serial Numbers usually begin with M or L or C or V plus six digits....and sometimes the serial number is just seven digits. If the radio is a Ford FIC model made in Mexico or Brazil then it can be 3 letters+six digits

If you cannot obtain the Serial Number by pressing buttons, then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard and ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING quoted in order for the code to be calculated

A removal video for the standard 4 hole DIN fitting can be viewed here
