I got it from the barcode sticker on the side of the unit.

I tried the serial number in a code generator online and it seem to think it was a valid serial.

However, they wanted money for the code. Then I found this site, so thought I would try here!

I believe these are VIN coded units which means it has to be electronically linked to your car`s electronics

This is a job for the Main Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service

The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

It usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

Hi Regworts,

Already had the radio out 3 times and still cant see an M or V number! I tried to attach a couple of pics, but cant because I am a new user on this forum.

In the posts I have read the number should either be on the top of the radio or at the back. Is this correct?

The 6 and 1 / 6 and 2 combo doesnt work when I switch the radio on btw.

Hold buttons 1&6 or 2&6 when switching on radio only works with some models The serial no. is on the label attached to the radio casing

Hi just got a new car and had to change the battery and now the radio is asking for the code. Its a Ford Focus and the serial number is M569065. Thanks in advance for any help.
