Make sure you are quoting the correct Serial Number as any numbers found in car documents etc. are often incorrect.

Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display this number

Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing

I got the serial number by pressing 1 & 6. I must admit it only displayed the numbers '507000' with no 'M' in front. It could be that this is not the serial number at all. I am going to get my husband to remove the radio when he gets in from work - and then we will know for sure the radio's serial number.

In UK or Europe the radio SERIAL NUMBER usually begins with M or V followed by SIX digits ...such as M654321 or V654321
