  • Ehy there,
I hope you'll be able to help me! I have changed my car's battery and of course now I need the code for the radio-CD, which I have not (of course...!!)
    The serial number is:
    M155549
    The part.no is
    YS4F - 18c815 - aa
Some other possibly interesting numbers are:
    fd600a 1
    and the END number: 260150
Can you help me in retrieving the code? If so, thanks a lot!

7641 is the code it left the factory with.

The problem will be one of the following

1...Wrong code due to quoting the wrong Serial Numbers ( Your serial numbers ARE correct , so the code IS correct)

2....The code is not being entered correctly.(Make sure you press the final button for at least 3 seconds)

    see here
    http://www.radio-code.co.uk/code-entry-guide-DC278/62B/P%20Renault.htm?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=260&width=450

    3....Radio has been recoded.

    4...Radio is faulty.

As it is definitely not no.1 ( as the serial numbers quoted ARE correct due to repeat of the security numbers) then I reckon the answer will be no.2 (Entry procedure)
  • I thank you very much works
  • yup double checked the serials codes etc

i have definitley inputted it correctly

when i do so, i just get ERROR for a minute or two on the display then it goes back to inputting code

so more the likley its been re coded?

where would i find out the right code, renault dealer?

    Thanks

If you are 100% certain that you are entering the code correctly (check it again just to make sure !!!)then it looks as though it might have been recoded to a completely different number.

If it has been recoded , then you will have to take it into a Decode Soecialist who will open it up , to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

I don`t think your Renault dealer will be able to help as they will just look your Serial Number up on the database and give you the same code....for £20 !

Before you start spending any money, try the following

1...Try a reset procedure...Leave SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED ...for a couple of hours then enter the code again.

If that doesn`t work , then

2..Try a reboot....disconnect the battery (or fuse) for 20 minutes, replace ....then enter the code again.

If that fails to work as well then it will be time to spend money.

Either a recode or buy another radio off Ebay.

Let me know how you get on.
