Good evening, the good people of Mumsnet recommended that I come here, so thanks to them for that.

I had to change the battery on my Mondeo so made sure I had the code. Unfortunately the chuffing thing was the wrong one. The Ford dealership I went to wanted £25.00 to retrieve it. Stuff that, I spent a fiver on radio pullers instead.

So, the serial number is M547026, and the probable reason the code I had is wrong is the radio is 4 years younger than the car.

I wonder if anyone has any idea on this (slightly different problem) with a micra '97 radio. (blaupunkt).

We definitely have the right code (have used it recently after a number of recent battery disconnections), but now, (following another disconnected battery) the radio is locked and putting in this code isn't working, just getting "secure", followed by "code".

Left it for 12 hours undisturbed but still goes to "secure" after inputting the correct code.

The manual talks of it permanently locking after 20 attempts, (which it will have had over its life by now!). and needing to send it to Nissan???

Any help please!
