Sorry....will only be available from the Main Dealer or the unit will have to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service to obtain this code

It will not be available for free or cheap from anywhere on the Internet

Thanks. Just to let you know Kenwood will supply this code for £10+VAT if you contact them direct at http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/support/security_codes/sec09_prior/

EDIT: I tried this service this morning and got the code. It only covers the code that the unit left the factory with (as they can be altered afterwards by radio decoding software) but in my case it worked and it was worth it as I know the radio has never been recoded.

I emailed a copy of my licence this morning and they called just after 12 to take debit card payment and gave me the code. A very good service.
Happy with my advice? The please use the 'thanks' button vvvvvvvvvvvvv

But the snag will be that it is unlikely they will offer any refund if the code given fails to work.

Post back here and let us know the result

If you are going to have to pay £10 (+VAT) or more for a code the better option is usually to take it into a Radio Decoding Service where they will connect a laptop to read the working code inside the radio`s memory chip (EEPROM) . However that normally costs around £20 but it usually guarantees a working radio

  • Hello,

when the fuse blew on my mk5 volkswagen polo radio I found that it went into safe mode. I do not possess the 4 digit unlocking code. I have a code in my manual but that is for a different radio. A previous owner has obviously changed the radio at some point.

One site wanted to charge me £25 for the code, that is pointless for me because i could buy a new radio for that on ebay.

Mine is a VW beta radio and the serial number is:

    vwz1z2d7592415

I would really appreciate some help, thank you!

I have just shorted my battery by connecting jump leads tot he wrong terminals and had to replace the fusible terminal block on a 2004 Nissan Micra.

I've taken out the radio and the numbers on the back are:
    7643 349 318 and
    BP 33494 7247883

any chance someone can help me out with the code?
