Yes you need to leave the radio on while wait is displayed Does display only read wait sometimes reads wait 30 etc if reads a figure this is minutes, You input code first figure with button 1 second figure of code with 2 etc. and when code is correct in display press 5.

Decided to "wait" while driving. Fortunately, Wait changed to Code after a couple of minutes. Then I tried entering the code using the 1234 keys. Well, obviously this is a different type of radio, and it failed at the first attempt. Back to Wait again for a couple of minutes. This is how to enter the code on my radio, which was a pretty lucky guess. Key number 1 chooses which digit you want to enter and the left and right arrow keys cycle through the 0-9 numbers. So you press 1 once an the first digit starts blinking. Pressing the right arrow seven times got me to number 7. Then another press on the 1 key, and the second digit starts flashing. Arrow keys to select the correct value again. Same for 3rd and 4th digits. Now I don't remember how I finished. Did I press the 2 key? Maybe.

Anyway, thanks for the code. Radio now works. Does anyone recognise this method of entering the code?

Not sure what you're referring to here.

If it was the need to Wait, then OK. It just wasn't clear to me how long I'd have to wait. As it turned out, it wasn't very long at all.

If it was the method of inputting the code, then what I had to do was completely different to every other explanation I've read. Basically, used number 1 and arrow keys.

But thanks very much for the code anyway.
