  • MSE Newbie .... please be especially nice!!

I have a Vauxhall Astra fitted with a Philips CAR400 Radio Casette player - car battery recently replaced and I don't have the radio code. Getting fed up stuck on the M25 in traffic jams without the radio or traffic announcements!

    Serial Number is GM0400X2385507

    Please can someone help.

    Many thanks

    Hi all,

My friend has a Peugeot 307. She had something changed in the car which I believe resulted in the battery being taken out which then resulted in a radio code problem. Is the only way to resolve this taking it to a dealer. The quote from the dealer is £170.

    Thanks,

    AMO

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

Sorry....will only be available from the Main Dealer or the unit will have to be taken into a Radio Decoding Service to obtain this code

It will not be available for free or cheap from anywhere on the Internet
